Faces of Magnum:
Rebekah Walvatne
Virginia-born and raised, account manager Rebekah enjoys going to the beach, cozying up by the fire, and taking care of six furry and scaly pets. Rebekah also spends her time doing puzzles- not just any puzzles though 3,000-piece puzzles.
Tell me a bit about yourself, Rebekah!
I grew up in Yorktown, VA and met my husband and his two kids there in 2012. We got married and moved to Fargo in June 2016. Now the kids are 11 and almost 13 years old, and we just moved back to Virginia in August of 2022. We love going to the beach, cozying up around a fire or board game, and taking care of our pets. We currently have six animals ranging from scaley to fuzzy, but have had up to fifteen before the big move.
What is your current job title?
I am an Account manager in the Logistics department. I am the point of contact for about ten customers for things such bidding on spot freight, making sure things are running smoothly for scheduling and our commitments, and handling any issues that arise with loads.
How long have you worked at Magnum?
I started with Magnum in March of 2021 so about a year and a half now. I came in as a customer service specialist, then become a broker/carrier sales rep, and now an Account manager since January.
What is your favorite part about working at Magnum?
My favorite part is the growth and opportunity here. The size of the Logistics department has almost tripled since I started, and other departments are growing just as quickly with acquisitions and new hires all over the network. They let me continue to work from home even though my home is now 1500 miles away from the corporate office, and one day I may be able to open an office or terminal here in VA or on the East Coast.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out at Magnum?
Ask questions! I started with no trucking experience, and it can all feel overwhelming, but it is such a family atmosphere, and they want to help you succeed. You never know what ideas a new question can inspire.
What’s something that might surprise me to know about you?
I love to do puzzles! I have done four that were 3000 pieces, and can do a 500 piece puzzle in under four hours. If you have any Ravensburgers collecting dust in your closet, I will pay for shipping!
