What is your favorite part of your job??

My favorite part of my job is the driving! I enjoy driving in general, and just like to keep moving as long as I can.

What is some advice you would give someone who is just starting out at Magnum?

Safety should always be your top priority. Buy an atlas and a true semi-truck GPS, not google or apple maps as they may lead you to non-truck routes. Always plan your trips and closely monitor the weather, especially in some areas like Wyoming, Colorado, and so forth out west, where the weather can change in a heartbeat.

Why did you become a truck driver? 

I grew up loving these trucks, often dreaming about driving one. Popular trucking movies such as “Smokey and the Bandit” played a significant part in my passion for being a trucker. 

What is your go to song when on the road?

My go to song would be Eighteen Wheeler by Mark Lang. 

What is your favorite state that you have been to?

My favorite state that I have been to is Florida! 

What is something you think everyone should know about truck driving? 

It is not an easy job; it’s not for everyone. Having to be away for 4 weeks or more from family and friends can be very hard and lonely. There is a lot of sadness and missing out on things. However, you have got to keep a positive outlook on things, maintain a cool head, think positively, and not let the bad thoughts in.
