Tara Veit

Coming from The Brown Transfer acquisition, Sr. Benefits Manager Tara Veit fits right into the Magnum family.

Tell me a bit about yourself, Tara!

I was born and raised in the Kearney, NE area. Earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. I was a non-traditional student at the age of 32 and my first job upon graduation was as a recruiter! I am the oldest of 3 children, enjoy planting a garden every year with my husband, and recently went on vacation to Las Vegas where we got to eat at Hell’s Kitchen!

What is your current job title?

I am the Sr. Benefits Manager and handle really anything benefits related from day-to-day questions all the way to renewal and open enrollment. More recently it has involved revamping our benefits platform to include tools, resources, and anything else to simplify benefits! However, I cannot take all the credit! The entire HR team never hesitates to jump in to answer employee questions and help the enrollment process!

How long have you worked at Magnum?

I have been with Magnum for just over a year but since I was part of the acquisition of Brown Transfer Company/BC Freightways, I have been with the company in one form or another for 7 years now!

What is your favorite part about working at Magnum?

Hands down, the people. Being part of an acquisition naturally causes some apprehension, but I began at Brown Transfer with a group of about 250 really great, welcoming people and have been incorporated into Magnum with a group of over 1500 really great, welcoming people. It may sound a bit cliché, but I still feel right at home.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out at Magnum?

Ask questions and explore. There are so many opportunities within the company. You can learn different aspects of the industry and grow into different roles and even different locations; this is a place you can make a lifelong career of.
